The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and can shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the following criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home which has a combined gross home earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic earnings would not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are studying or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges more info should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
